Artist Biography

Here are some photo’s of my beloved family, whom I take on the road with me on 99% of my business trips. Ashley, the oldest, enjoys reading, exploring, and collecting rocks and shells. Zackary, our up and coming scientist of the family, enjoys trains, cars, dirt, and asks regularly if he can have a laboratory like Dexter’s on "Dexter’s Laboratory" (cartoon network). Lyssa, the youngest, has turned into a very opinionated, aggressive, and over-all inquisitive child whose vocabulary has gone way beyond "butt." My wife, Kristen, whom I love very much, is my most verbal supporter, handles all advertising, consults with customers while I work, and updates my resume. She is also a talented writer, a wonderful mother, and she handles all that goes on with Stuartizm Designs, on top of tackling home-schooling our brood. She is my confidant and my best friend in the whole world!

On our business trips we try to make sure we do something special as a family that the kids will remember. On the way home from our first western trip to California, we stopped to see Yosemite National Park with its giant sequoia’s, and the Grand Canyon.

We all had a ball, until we climbed back in the car and realized we still had over 2,000 miles to drive to get home. (Yes, we drive wherever we go!, sick isn’t it, especially when you consider we drive a compact car!)

Kris and myself enjoy exploring old, dilapidated graveyards, enjoying both the history and the creepiness, especially cemetary’s that have not had anyone laid to rest in them for a long time.

Now to me…My name is Stuart Smith and I have been an artist ever since I could pick up a crayon. While the other kids were playing outside, I chose to hide in the woods to read big books, and sketch on anything I could find. I take my artwork very seriously. Most of my work is based on my dreams and the horror and fantasy that I love to read and watch. I am a freak about detail and it pleases me to create an atmosphere that both excites and mesmerizes the customer.

Favorite movies:
Highlander, Aliens, Brainstorm, Screamers, LORD OF ILLUSIONS, Matrix, In the Mouth of Madness, Event Horizon, Wishmaster 1 & 2, NIGHTBREED, HELLRAISER 1,2,3, & 4
and any movie that is bizarre and a challenge to figure out and tends to make your skin crawl, like "Dark City".

Favorite TV shows:
Little House on the Prairie (Who'd have guessed?), Star Trek (all varieties), The Pretender, Starblazers, Bugs Bunny Cartoons (still!), In Search Of..., and The Outer Limits.

Favorite Music:
New Age, Heavy Metal (intelligible), (I have to endure the oldies with my wife) hee, hee
Favorite groups are: Megadeth, Pink Floyd, Queensryche, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Babylon Zoo (Space Man - Naturally!), Fear Factory
