Elsa Lanchester had a dual role in this movie: as both Mary Shelley and as the Bride. As a gimmick the credits stated the Bride was played by ’?’. It’s not a great makeup but it’s a classic.
Jack Pierce was again responsible for the makeup as he had been for the original monster.
