The Spectators
Did I mention the Governor Gary Locke showed up with his wife and children on Halloween afternoon. Here I am talking to him after just explaining to another group of folks out front that I can't let them in yet as I'm trying to finish. I let the governor in though as his daughter was fascinated by the witch stirring her cauldron on the front porch.
All morning and afternoon long people just kept coming by to drop off food for the food bank or just to see if maybe I'd let them in early. The photo above at the right shows me doing my best Claw of Death impersonation to try and scare them off but nobody was buying it. They'd all read in the paper that I was a nice guy. Darn.
This was the face I was trying to make up above but was having trouble conveying it. I've got 11 months to work on it now. This is actually another of the things on the pillars of pain. You've got to look for a while to see it all.
This was the beginning of the 628 cans of food we collected on Saturday & Sunday. We also picked up almost 60.00 in cash. The Thurston County Food Bank was very appreciative of it. It was nice to be able to do the yard up, have a good time and give something back to the community at the same time. Whodathunked it. My yard haunt's gone legit. Amazing what a little press coverage can do for you.
