Here in lawsuit-happy California, we were worried about setting ourselves up by having strangers come onto our property. "Friendly" crowd control was needed, too.
By word of mouth alone, we now entertain over 2000 guests. Rather than have them wend their way through tunnels or mazes, we bring the event to them. They remain on the sidewalk behind a portable fence.
In front of them, we provide a complete "mini theatre." Every twenty minutes or so, the "show" begins with live performers, special effects, and, of course, LOTS of candy.
We have an actual storyline, five to seven minutes long, that's either an "original" or a broad "adaptation" that ends with the actors walking the fence line handing out candy.
Since contracting "Halloween Madness," our guiding principles are that (1) We have fun. If it stops being fun, we won't do it anymore. (2) We try not to get "too slick." We leave some "rough edges" to keep us all honest, (3) The materials we use are, for the most part, recycled scrap, and (4) It's not a money-making activity.
And now. . .
welcome. . . to Halloween Nights past. . . when it's spooky. . . when the unexpected can happen. . . and usually does. . . to the unwary. . . in the dark. . .
ENJOY YOUR VISIT !
