Knoebel's
Elysburg, PA
Knoebel's Amusement Resort is one of the greatest traditional parks in the country. It is fairly large (and still expanding) and is located in the hills of Central Pennsylvania. The park is about 3 miles or so from the nearest town (Elysburg) and well away from the noise and problems of the cities. Located in a large wooded valley, the park is quite cool even in the summer. When you walk through the park, you will be surprised at the large number of trees. They take great care to preserve as many trees as possible when adding new rides and attractions. General Admission and parking are both free. During weekdays and selected weekends, a pay one price pass is available or you can use ride tickets. On many weekends, only ride tickets are accepted. Knoebel's also has their own campground near the park which is rated quite good. Knoebel's Amusement Resort is located just off route 487, near Elysburg, PA. Directions from Interstate 80: Take route 80 to the Danville, PA exit (Route 54). Follow route 54 east to route 487. Turn left and follow route 487 North for a couple of miles to the traffic light at Knoebel's Parkway. Turn right onto the Parkway into the main parking lot. Parking is free.
