A mad scientist transplants human glands into a gorilla, turning the ape into the beautiful Paula Dupree (Acquanetta). However, a severe emotional jolt soon reverts her back into a primitive ape-woman with disastrous consequences.
Acquanetta was born on an Arapaho reservation in Wyoming and grew up in Pennsylvania. She became a very successful New York model. Her fabricated South-of-the-Border background as the Venezualan Volcano both helped her secure a contract with Universal but also left her typecast.
Jack Pierce did the makeup and used a lot of yak hair.
